Our ministry wouldn't be possible without churches across the country signing on to the vision of Latreia—to encourage people to use outreach and service opportunities as a means of worship to our Lord and Savior! We want to thank you in advance for taking time to consider hosting a Latreia team at your church. As we travel, the simple ministry of hospitality is one of the most evident witnesses of Jesus' love we have seen.
A typical church hosting could look like this:
The team arrives late Saturday afternoon and either sleeps in the church or at host homes.
The team speaks in church at your Sunday services (this can be a five-minute talk or giving the entire sermon…you pick!) We would ask that if possible a free-will offering be taken to support the team's ministry and sustain their travel across the country. The money can be collected and a check to Latreia can be mailed to 3490 Lexington Ave N Suite 300; St Paul, MN 55126 where it will be deposited into their account.
The team speaks/hangs out with your youth group later in the week. They can also lead a one-hour program with your youth on hunger awareness and poverty in America .
The team departs for their next location on Friday and says goodbye to new friends!
Your church and youth can continue to follow the team and their progress on the web under their team page and their road journal.
Other fun ideas:
Congregants can sign up in advance to volunteer with the Latreia teamers at the local service organization they will be volunteering with all week.
Youth groups from several area churches can be invited to your church the week that the Latreia team will visit. They can share their stories from the road, talk about how vital youth in America are to the future of a better country, and share their own testimonies about what God is doing across America . We have found that young people really empower and inspire other young people to get out into their communities and make a difference.
Ask congregants to sponsor individual teamers with a monthly pledge for the remainder of their trip.
