Latreia: Serving God-Serving Others

Host a Team (family)

Some of our teamer's favorite memories have been time shared with their host ‘parents' around the country! The ministry of hospitality has been such a blessing in our lives and has revealed a spirit of generosity in this country that is spreading! Thank you for considering being a host family to a Latreia team!

Host home families are asked to provide a warm, welcome home (not necessarily beds), food, and fellowship for the teamers! Teams come with sleeping bags and air mattresses so please don't feel like you can't help out if you don't have extra mattresses!

Teams usually arrive Saturday evening and leave the following Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. We also need host homes to host teams Friday nights during their travel days between states. A team member will contact you directly to discuss more details at least one month prior to their arrival. If you would like to volunteer to host at team when they are in your area, please email us and select “Host a teamer” as the subject!

Jesus had homes everywhere he went… He impressed this reality on the disciples as he commanded them not to take anything for their journey. They are sent out not in the simple poverty of ascetic life but with a new vision of interdependence, trusting that God would provide for them. The incredible thing is that this ensured not only that the church practiced hospitality but that it would be dependent on hospitality. The line between “us” and “them” was dissolved. All were dependent on God and one another in a new economy.
